What's going on

Old Mule and I (and by "I," I mean me) have been discussing the great good times that could be had on a weekend get-together among blogging friends. As a starting point, we propose Chicago in March 2008. If you're reading this, you're invited. We figured the easiest way to plan the event is to blog it since most of you only exist on the web anyhow.

I exist all over the place. There's a good bit of me in fact. If you guys can get to Chicago in March, then I imagine that I can too. I'm clearing my calendar right now. (You think I have nothing planned for March 2008? Ha! I do so too not.)

That's how you spell -
Chi-ca-go.

That's some ole time little ditty courtesy of the older generation - no, not me. I've never been to Chicago, I like this idea.

Chicago in March? Not California?

I have been to O'Hare, that counts. And have driven around the perimeter of Chicago.

But I have never been to Chicago so I guess I have to go to Chicago in 3/08, but really can't it be some place sunny and without major wind?

OK Chicago it is. And right. Like everybody else I have so much planned for a year from now.

Hm...I've never been to Chicago either.

Ooh March that means everyone can bring me a birthday present too!

I've toured Chicago and that area in the fall and spring, but not in March. Can we make this late March?

3 D and I got stuck there once in February 2001. Missed a connecting flight. Chicago has Weather. Of course, it was an adventure, and most adventures are fun. And it was.

Ooooo MAN!
This would be amazingly great.
I shall start saving my confederate dollars and counting the days.

also, my forever fave series character, the love of my life, dr. Romano lived and died in Chicago, too. the worse the weather will be the more I am going to love it. :)

Ariel, I bet we can even find a Hungarian restaurant for you to avoid.

TLP, I hear you. April 2007 is hazy for me so I figure we can make it work. Come to think of it, November 2006 is a little misty.

G, I think you'll love Chicago. The architecture downtown is pretty amazing.

Pia, it didn't seem right to make the 2/3 of bloggers I know cross the whole country while I stayed home. Besides, I bet you guys would leave crumbs in my couches.

Jenna, it's practically crawling with loose women and fast men. You'll love it.

TLP, I'm sure there will be frosts this time, too.

Logo, the hotels may just accept confederate money.

Chicago huh? Where are we'all going to meet? The United Center? Or the Uno's in Crestwood?

;)

I would have opted for California as well.

"Damned right, dude. And about time too. Not to mention it'll be easier (and cheaper) to get to LA from Honolulu."

"I told you, dude. Don't go shopping for surfboards yet. Don't get your hopes up on any big rollers."

"I'll hope what I want to, dude. I'm so sick of chopping your friggin' Maine ice. And while you're at it, you might want to tell these people about allowing comments on here who happen to be at Wordpress or Typepad instead of Google BorgSpot. Sheesh."

Exactly how many days to get there from California? (as the crow flies)...

The chance to meet my blogger buddies? In Obamaland? In election year 2008 no less?

I'm so there!

Ariel, we can have a treasure hunt and include Dr. Romano on the list.

O Ceallaigh, think of all the holding forth you can do at the museum of science and industry.

Terry, if the crow flies out of SFO, a week to 10 days.

Sar, we'll add Obama headquarters to Ariel's treasure hunt.

"Darn it, I got shuffle board that day!"

March of 2008 is pretty booked right now, but I think I could squeeze in a weekend jaunt to Chicago.
That will be GREAT fun!

Minka said...

Just kidding though.
Next March? Sometimes I wish I was more organized to plan that far ahead, but the idea sounds great and very tempting.
If I can, I will definitely come.

Chicago.
In March.

Oh, okay, what the hell.

I've been to Chicago.

I like the idea of California.

Me too Jenna:)

Actually Chicago is a great idea. Even if we met in CA, most of us would change planes in Chicago or Detroit anyway. Chicago is a fun place and it's halfway for most of us.

I'm in.

Doug The Una said...

Minka, I would hate to interfere in Iceland's quest for shuffleboard gold.

Sure will, Jamie Dawn. Bring a towel.

Great, Minka. I'll put you down as "if"

There ya go, Al. It'll be like Manhattan but without history.

Objection noted, Diesel.

Mistress, your birthday too?

Thank you for understanding, TLP. That's my blogmama!

sounds like an idea with merit :-)its always fun when cyber friends get a chance to meet.

And this will mark the occasion of the Mule's birthday too. Am I old enough to speak in the 3rd person?

At any rate, one thing I prognosticate: a grand time will be had.

Mistress Anna said...

Yup we is 5 days apart Doug.
I hate to be biased here, but I'dlov to go somewhere warm.

puppytoes said...

i'm in, but only if a trip to Blind Faith in Evanston is part of the deal. (just sayin'... goo-o-o-od food. good food.) xox neva

yeah warm would kick ass, wouldn't it Anna? Hey! We could be travel and roomy buddies. Good grief. Ahahahahaha.

Hello Doug. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. And yes I am on blog explosion. I will also check your other blogs. Peter

Doug The Una said...

Kyah, I agree. Good times to be had. In March you can even smell in Chicago.

Mule, can you prgnosticate co-moderation? We'll have cake for the birthdays. Do you prefer alfalfa or grass.

Mistress, how about way south Alberta?

Puppy, I will not try to prevent you from eating Vegan. Chicago without meat is like Venice without water.

Jenna, I get kind of a Led Zeppelin vibe from that idea. I'm not paying the room deposit.

Welcome, Worldman. I thought so.
